Most of the products used in interior joinery, whilst they may have some resistance to casual moisture, cannot endure the temperature and humidity fluctuations of the outdoors.
Modern production techniques have seen some good progression in the area of outdoor and alfresco suitable joinery products, and at Burnie Timber we are able to offer some options depending on your particular application.
Versaboard
Versaboard is an expanded PVC panel which is both lightweight and 100% water proof as it contains no wood fibre in its construction.
Versaboard is suitable for creating joinery carcass. It has excellent screw holding and is processed using timber panel machinery. Burnie Timber offer this product in both White and Black in 16mm thickness.

Vinyl Clad Lightweight MR Ply
Featuring durable vinyl clad faces on an MR Lightweight plywood substrate, this is an economical option for exterior joinery construction.
Suitable for carcass building, the Lightweight MR Ply can be easily cut and edged in ABS using regular woodworking machinery.
Burnie Timber offer both White and Black options in 15mm thickness.

Exterior Grade MR MDF White Satin
Burnie Timber Exterior Grade MR MDF White Satin appears just like our regular White Satin products, however it utilizes a high grade “ULTRA HMR MDF” substrate for exterior durability. The MDF has a slightly higher density and uses an advanced resin to give the MDF superior resistance to moisture.
Suitable for carcass construction, but also suitable for making doors which can be 2-pac painted just like regular joinery doors.
We offer this product only in White and 18mm thickness.
